A former director of CT Bowring Insurance & Chief Executive of its Marine Division, with 20 years experience in the insurance of the Marine and Natural Resource industries. He was co-founder of Jenner Fenton Slade and its Chief Executive. He was instrumental in the designing and development of new forms of insurance cover and approaches to rating.

After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 1985 Duncan has worked in a variety of financial management roles in the financial services, corporate finance, property development, automotive and aerospace manufacturing industries. John was admitted as a solicitor in 1968 and started his career within law firms in London before becoming the in-house lawyer for an international chemical processing company. In 1973, with a small management team, John helped modernize the “Tote” revolutionizing their on-course business. Then in 1983 he joined United News and Media plc as Group Company Secretary where he played a significant role in high profile mergers and acquisitions as well as providing advice to the Board on all issues of corporate governance. Charles started his career in 1992 at Heath Fielding. Subsequently he has worked in London, Paris and New York for companies such as Sedgwick Marsh and latterly Arthur J Gallagher. With a distinction in the Lloyd’s tests, and a Certificate in IT for Insurance Professionals, Vanessa was trained in Price Forbes and later in Sedgwick Marine and Cargo, in every aspect of the management of Claims Administration, client liaison, accounting, and staff training. Appointed Claims Manager at Cogent in 2001, and has masterminded the integration of all internal claims systems with the latest market practice and technology. Craig has a number of years experience in the Insurance Industry, starting his career in 1987 with J.H.Minet since then he has worked for a number Reinsurance Brokers, namely Benfield where he spent in excess of 10 years working within a successful team servicing clients from all over the world. Jenny joined Cogent in 2005, initially on the administration side before moving on to a Broker Support role and attaining the Cert CII qualification. Jenny progressed to the risk processing department in 2008, specialising in Marine and Non-Marine facultative business. Paris started her career at Cogent Resources in 2007 and has since worked in several areas of the company starting from the administrative side and progressing onto the placing and broking side completing her Certificate in Insurance, after several years of dealing with the forward facing Insurance matters Paris is now the Executive Assistant to both Mark Bishop, CEO & Antony Barrow, Deputy Chairman, the Travel & Events Manager and the Office and Personnel Administrator, all of which keep her busy ensuring a smooth operation is run both in and outside of the firstname.lastname@example.org
